With top build quality and a retro-style based on the Pentax MX film camera, the Pentax MX-1 enthusiast compact combines a vintage aesthetic (top and bottom brass plates) with modern features such as a tilting LCD screen, fast 4x optical zoom lens, RAW stills, Full HD video and even slow motion/timelapse. Though the BSI 1/1.7-inch imaging sensor might seem small against other premium compact cameras, the image quality from the MX-1 is fantastic largely due the wonderful optics. A great street shooter

I use mine regularly for daily carry. The files are surprisingly good (both jpg and RAW) when used within its limits. It has a very useful focal range, and maximum aperture. Tilt, stabilization, ND, flash are all bonuses. The brass is cool... It's getting a bit old now, but I keep shooting it !
