Description

The Nikon D80 is a 10mp APSC CCD sensor DSLR relased in 2006. It was the more consumer friendly version of the pro-level Nikon D200, though nowadays the price is similar enough you may just consider the D200 instead. The D80 is no slouch, however, and represents a great value for money with a beautiful sensor and large compatibility with lenses.

      Overall rating

I always loved the images from my D70, so I thought the D80 would be a perfect next step. I purchased one from Used Photo Pro and I love the images I'm getting out of it. The larger rear screen, better viewfinder, and compatibility with SD cards are all major improvements over the D70 (which I still own). At under $100, I consider this a bargain. I am a big fan of the look of images from these older CCD sensors and find the limitations compared to the latest & greatest to be of little consequence for my type of shooting. A big shout-out to James for creating this web site - I am really enjoying it! Thank you!
